minn kota plug

I have a minn kota trolling motor that came with my boat. It is set up to plug into my boat. I plug has stretched and you have to hold it just right to get power to the motor. I have looked allover to find a new end and cannot find a match. My question is can I do away with the plug and recepticle and run the wires to the battery.

That would be no problem, except that you would not be able to remove the motor without disconnecting the wires or using some sort of quck disconnect. You could replace both the Plug and Recepticle with new ones..
