Question on pressurized water system

I just bought a 2001 wellcraft 2400 martinque, and I cannot seem to get the fresh pressurized water system to work. I have filled the water tank, but cannot figure out how to turn the pump on to use the water in the sink and head.

I have tried turning both batteries on and nothing, and I have searched extensively for a switch or valve on the tank and the flojet pump, but have yet to find anything.

I have not hooked up the shore power, but I don't believe that's necessary for the water system.

Can anyone give me some guidence?

Thanks

Re: Question on pressurized water system

There should be a main breaker panel. The switch should be there.

There should also be a pressure switch somewhere. The pump will only run when the pressure drops.

Re: Question on pressurized water system

The first time you apply power after the water tank is filled, the pump should run until the accummulator fills and the cutoff pressure is reached. Then when you open a fixture, the accummulator supplies water until the cut-in pressure is reached at which time the pump again starts and may run continuously depending on demand. When the fixture is closed or demand drops to the point where the pump can keep up, the accummulator fills again until cut-off pressure is reached and the pump stops. Rapid pump cycling indicates the accummulator is water logged (all water -- no air). It's the air in the accummulator that gets compressed as water level rises. It's that compressed air that forces the water out again when a fixture is opened.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply's.

Two questions
The main breaker panel, would that be the one in the cabin for the 110 stuff like microwave etc. If so, does that mean I need to have shore power to get the pump to run?

No you shouldn't need shore power to run. You may have a fuse panel somewhere in addition to the breaker panel.

Re: Question on pressurized water system

There has to be a switch somewhere in the vicinity of the pump itself or on an accessory panel. If there wasn't, and empty water tank would cause the pump to run continuously thus burning it up -- and that may have already occurred.
