What year is my 8hp Mariner

I have an 8hp Mariner serial # 677 L316427. I bought the motor used a number of years ago and am not sure of the year. The dealership I bought it from told me he thought it was a mid 80's model, I think it's a Yamaha made Mariner also. It has Splitfire SF265F plugs in it right now, but I want to go back to the original type plugs, I use it mainly for trolling and the engine seems to load up quickly. Without knowing the year of the motor I don't know which plugs to get. Any help with this is grealy appreciated.

what is the link to plug in the serial # to cross to a year I had it once from this site and have misplaced it?
