Hello all
I've got a 6hp 4stroke merc
Ran fine for a year, then after use one day, it was laid on it's back, popeller down overnight, when I put it back on its stand to start it and flush fresh water through it, it wouldn't start
the red light flickers and it doesn't turn over
I have a feeling oil or gas got in the wrong place while it was laying on its back, any ideas?
Thanks

If you haven't done so already, take spark plugs out and make sure cylinders are not full of oil. From there I'm not sure where to go.

Yep, pull the plugs and spin it over to get rid of any oil. I'd dump whats left and change to new oil too. The red light is a low oil warning, and it will disable the engine from running. 4 stroke outboards should have somewhere on them a diagram for proper setting on there side.
