Year and where to get parts if possible

I have an old Montgomery Ward Sea King and I am trying to find out the year and where to find parts it has seized up on me and wont turn to start model NO. 04 KI 8820 S.N. 3105

Boy, those don't look like any numbers I've seen. I get my info from discount-marine-parts dot com where they have a Sea King section in the Outboards drop-down menu with all of the model numbers and all of the years. Look there and you'll see what to look for.

I believe that is an oldie but goodie. Made by Keikhaefer (Mercury).

I think that if you go to www.oldmercs.com/models.html you will find your motor at the top of the list. Of course it will say Mercury on the side.

Thanks for the web page I got on there and looked at the K models they are very similar to the motor I have I apprecite it. I just still wish I could pin point a year if anyone has an idea on the actual production year please let me know.

As it says on the oldmercs website, the K1 was made in 1940. There were very few motors of any kind made in 1941 because os WWII. Note that you have one of the first Mercuries made.
