Do you have fresh gas in the boat?

Did fuel sit in the carbs over the time it was stored?

there may have been some old gas in the bottoms of the tanks and possibly in the carbs

You said, "the motor doesnt seem to bogg down or anything like that"

So the motor revs up normally? If so, sounds like a problem between the drive train and the prop. Like when my boat's prop gets seaweed wrapped around it, and the motor spools up but doesn't really get after it, just gets bogged down.

Is the throttle response lazy? I'd suspect the carburetors need rebuilding if it sat for that amount of time? Did you take a look at the spark plugs? If it was winterized prior to storage then the fogging oil that was burned off when you started it up could have fouled the plugs. I'd have a look at the plugs, otherwise I would suspect the carbs.

I would definitely get after the carbs first. Get a gasket set and tear them down and give a good thorough cleaning.

johnson makes a fuel additive that may help in cleaning the carbs out. if winterized i dont suspect you may have to go thru the trouble of rebuilding the carbs.just something else ya might want to consider. my thoughts are always start small then work up.seen many$ spent on parts folks didnt even need. you go that route and your liable to spend alot of$ when you could have used that money for a new fish finder.???
