18hp evin 18 hp popping at idle and thru mid range

18hp evinrude no tag on motor looks low to mid 70s
popping at idle and other speeds carbs done motor ran well after we got it back from shop
anything will help havent checked compression. but it closed gap on one plug
the repair service did carbs and link and sink ran well till out of warantie.
any thing apperaciated

check and see if the flywheel and crank shaft are still lined up. there is a woodruff key that keep the in line, if broken, it throws the timing off. also carb adjustments.http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=167352
