I have posted a number of times about this motor, and my last post I was so down, I thought it was dead and I was about to post a post mortum.....

I'm happy to say, that the mechanic did get it going, and we did have to bypass the low oil warning module as was suggested by a couple of guys on this forum, so thanks guys for the helpful hint.

The motor runs a little rough while idling but since I originally put oil in the gas tank, I'm basically running almost double oil. This was suggested by my mechanic to insure that my oil injection pump was working properly and protect my motor from not getting enough oil since it had been sitting up for more than a year prior to me getting it. He assures me that we shouldn't adjust carbs until I get the oil flushed out of the gas tank, just keep running like that and and then look at whether the carbs idle adjustment needs attending to. Its smokes pretty heavily right now while I'm idling out the no wake zone, and sitting at the dock. But it basically performed pretty good on the lake. I might need to change to another prop as its only topping out at 3500 rpm's doing 35 mph. I just don't have super fast hole shot, but I'm not pulling a skier so as long as it gets up on plane I'm not real concerned about it now. I think its a 19 pitch, pushing a 19'6" ProCraft. So I might need to go to a 17 pitch to push it on up to a 5000 rpm range.

Yep, we are enjoying, we took it out again yesterday, after topping off gas again. Still smokes when idling, but then I saw several big HP motors doing the same thing while we idled out the no wake zone, so maybe its actually normal. The other motors were newer EFI types. This is the first big HP motor I've owned. So I wasn't sure about the heavy smoke during idle. Nearly had a heart attack when I was 4 or 5 miles away from dock and the motor suddenly died. Lifted cover looking for who knows what. Scratching my head, at a loss as to why it killed without warning, when my wife says very nonchalantly, it was almost as if the kill switch had been pulled, that I, red faced, looked at that control box and ... yep, it was pulled off. My fat ### had knocked it off, when I had turned in the seat!!! Live and learn.
