Hi everyone:)http://forums.iboats.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
:) I noticed transom separation from the back sheet metal extension. I need to know if anyone used the Seacast on these boats.
* Do I have to remove all of the wood, or can I just dig out the damaged, and poor over the remaining good sound lumber?
* Will it stick well on the aluminum skins that are on both sides of the transom?

Thank you for all your time.

Sincerely,
Robert Reinman

Re: Transom repair on 1990 Pro Tracker17 Deep V

I am in the process of doing this on a lund. I have all the wood removed and am waiting for the seacast to arrive. The seacast will bond to wood but I would definately remove all the wood before pouring. Most of the solid wood that was in my transom was wet. Even if some of it is still solid in time it will rot like the rest of it and you will be right back where you started. Fix it right the first time. You will need to sand and prime the inner/outer transom skins before the seacast pour. Check out my transom repair thread:
