Mercruiser 4.3 Setting base timing.

Hi all I have just rebuilt a GM4.3. The engine has no mechanical advance. Just wanted info on the proper way to set the timing before i give it back to the buddy. It looks to be all electronic advance. It is a 1992 carburated model. Thanks in advance

Nothing special on the Thunderbolt IV ignition which is what you probably have on a 92, just aim your timing light and turn the distributor to set. Just be sure the advance works as rpm increases.
