My retired neighbor who used to work for the power company said the most valueable seminar he ever attended on troubleshooting, taught that when new problems arise or don't go away when they should have, to always back up to the last known working condition and list everything that was changed or adjusted or disconnected and re-connected because most likely the solution lies in there somewhere. Obviously it's a much longer discussion but the basic principle for me has been to ask myself, "what have I touched". No matter how mundane it may seem. It should not be overlooked. His little bit of advice has saved me several times.

he is 100% right. thats, why we ask for history, what have you done. and along about 5 or 10 post later they admit they did this. and then we solve the problem.

Absolutely correct. You need all the cards to be dealt before you decide what hand to play !!!!

Exactly! And that's why I get a little testy about half way through an issue when the poster says "I don't know if this is important, but I -------." If we have the full story up front it save all of us time and eliminates many of the "what if" scenarios.
