Trim up button doesn't work but trailer does

So the manual says look for the Trim Limit Switch and that it is on Transom assembly...

Is this it?

So if this is it, which side is it on , and how the heck do you take it off, most of the screwheads are bloocked......

Additionally would this concern you?

What was the person thinking, were they trying to seal it from the outside?

So I just figured out that if i turn the motor then the whole switch is exposed, but I still don't know which one to check.

Your second pic is the Trim Limit switch (Note the TL on the switch)

Your last picture looks like they have reused the gasket, I would sure pull the drive, check for water where it shouldn't be and put in new gaskets and seal rings. Be sure to check the alignment while the drive is off.

Not sure which manual you have, but the OEM explains them very clearly.

Here is a link to the OEM manual just scroll to the last page and click on the LETTER of the section you want to look at.
