I have a 1995 Yamaha 70, 2-stroke outboard. I can only get it to run if i switch the "Emergency Fuel Enrichment " switch from "normal" to "open". Can anyone tell me what this might indicate? I thought it was a carb thing but now I think it is oil related.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Yamaha only runs with "Emergency Fuel Enrichment" switch on.

I suppose "Emergency Fuel Enrichment" switch is not the proper name, also it runs in the "open" position, not "on". After removing the lid/cover from the motor, the switch is red, odd shaped, and is partially hidden behind the air filter(?), between the carburetor and the oil tank. It has three positions: normal, open, closed.

I do not have an owner's manual, and I'm better at working on things made from wood, not internal combustion stuff.
