4.3 MPI Alpha I shuts off

My 2004 Bayliner 4.3 MPI Alpha I randomly shuts off and will immediately restart. While it does happen anytime(taking off, planed off, idling), it seems to increase the longer it has run. Any suggestions that a DIY'r can check?

With it running. Even in neutral, do a wiggle test of all wiring connections.

Tried the loose wire test.. didn't find anything. Could it be the fuel pump? Is there a way to check the fuel pump without replacing?

Good info. Thanks, but the procedure is for the fuel system up to the fuel pump. What about checking the fuel pump itself?

You will need one of these and the proper fuel gauge, manifold, and fittings for the hi-pressure fuel pump.
