2000 Evinrude 225hp Feigh Ram Good or Bad????

Looking at a boat that has this motor I'm hearing different things from people I don't believe know much about motors. Is this a good motor or are the problems???

Was there a recall for something on the motor for this year?

personally, i'd pass on it. they are extremely tempermental, evinrude dropped the design. that should tell you something.

junk,a buddy bought one, didnt last a summer,the newer years 2003 and up were apparently a lot better.i also know a dealer personally who dropped omc,because of all the problems with these motors and he felt very uncomfertable selling them to people.

Ficht was probably the primary reason OMC went under.
I'm hoping etec will redeem Evinrude. Haven't seen one up close yet.

Man, when you say you don't know much about motors....the question told us that....worst motor ever...fuel injectors very bad, many many problems...infamous....a few of the instructors at Yamaha school came to Yamaha from OMC....very good stories about FICHT
