omc 5.7l starting problem

This is either really easy or way to complicated to fix but I'm looking for some help

I have a 5.7l omc that started fine and then wouldn't.....just a single "click" when you turn the key, both batteries are fine, and I had it tuned up a couple of months ago including points and plugs... Anyone out there have an idea of what went bad??? starter? selonoid (s)? how do I check? I can fix most things myself if someone tells me what to look for and how to do it! Any help would be great...thanks all!

You could try bypassing the solenoid to see if it is bad....

This is for a Mercruiser, but the basics are the same, slave solenoid looks different, but works the same.

Check out Don's procedure......
I would pay special attention to all of the wire connections & make sure they are corrosion free.......​
