I just went to get the boat ready for the first trip and it did not want to turn over easily. I removed the plugs and there was water in 2 cylinders on right side and in one cylinder on left side. The water was a bit murky but the plugs are really clean and not rusted at all. The starter bendix is jammed so i need to remove and reinstall but the engine does not appear seized. It only has 200 hours on it and ran perfect last summer. Can anyone guide me as to what may have happened to cause this? It was winterized as usual. I sure could use your thought!

how old are manifolds and risers?
also, could there have been anyway for water to drip down ontop of the carb and down into the carb. had that hapen once, was a ***** to figure out. it happened after the boat was removed from shrink wrap but it does rain under there

The boat was under cover all winter however it has been outside for the last month and all it has done is rain. It has been covered. When I went to start it I did have it hitched up to a hose etc. The oil is perfectly free of water.....

i just had one that was just starting to get water in the cylinders and the oil looked fine. take the tube off the rocker cover (the one that goes to the carb) and look inside there, it might be all milky and white, also same thing if you take off the cap on the rocker cover to the oil fill, probably see all milky white. how old are the manifolds and risers?

On your winterizing ,did you just remove the drain plugs and nothing came out or did you remove the drain plugs and go in there with a drill bit or nail to make sure they werent clogged?.seeing nothing drain may have had you believe there was no water in the manifolds or risers to drain thus leading to cracked manifolds and/or risers

If I recall I did remove all the plugs(as well as hose ends) and did check to make sure the holes were not plugged. The boat is a 95 and the risers are probably original equiment. What should I do next?? I have a good mechanical aptitude and restore old tractors but know little when it comes to the 5.0 and the cooling system. I do certainly welcome the help!!Dan
