I believe I removed it from the outdrive end. Clean out the grease. You can remove the outer seal. Inside you will see two or three snap rings. One holds the shaft on the bearing, and the other secures the bearing in the housing. Once you have removed the grease they will be easy to see. Remove them and then you should be able to tap the shaft out with a soft hammer, use a drift to remove the bearing, then you can remove the other seal. When you are replacing the bearing, I have heard other suggest using a sealed bearing, that way you do not have to worry about greasing it.
