A minor detail, but my boat does not have good spots to hang the fenders from. I use the dock cleats and sometimes the antenna mounts (which i removed recently). Was looking around the net and i see a few different types that screw into the side of the boat and have a peg that fits into the lock. The fender line is attached to the peg. So it's pretty easy to snap them on when needed.

Some seem to allow line length adjustments fairly quickly, some are more tied on to the pegs. Anyone have a type that they really like? Brand/model? I was looking at an Attwood one with a "lock and key" style.

Thanks as always.

I put perko brand ones on my last boat and was really happy with them. There were two per side and all the fenders had the same length of rope and I could put them on while idleing back to cove and they always stayed in place and never came off. I dont have a pic but they where round chrome with a slot in them and you tied the fender line in the peg. I bought a new boat but havent been able to talk myself into drilling holes in it yet. But after trying to find a good place to tie my fenders to I will prob buy some more and put on this boat.

I also have the same- Perko. They work well, and haven't popped out while under way. They also look good, as they fit tightly to the boat, so it isn't real noticeable. It is difficult to make the drill marks, but once done you won't be disappointed. I find they are great when you want to hang a fender when mooring with your side cleat- I can't fit the rope through the cleat when I have the fender looped through it.

OK, thanks, I've seen the perko ones and they look like what I want. Doesn't look like they have any way to quickly adjust the line length on the fender, but I guess that is often not needed as the length is more determined by the boat than the dock I come up to.

Any others folks have had success with (or ones you didn't like, for that matter) ?

I tied the rope on the fender ( I have hull hugger fenders ) and set all the chrome locks to that and then tied the other three fenders that way they where all the same and I never had to adjust them.
