I am getting water in my engine compartment (after we had a storm and the boat was jolted up and down) i have a i/o not a closed system, and no holes in the bottom
No no no.....you have it all backwards. You're supposed to have Boat in water, not Water in boat. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. So have you crawled in there and tried to find out where it's coming from?
Deterioriating transoms are not uncommon in older boats. (usually due to rotten coring). If the transom was flexing under the strain water may be coming in around the drive casing.
I am not clear as to what happened. Is the boat in the water or on a trailer? Did rain water get in the boat. If so, maybe it is under the floor trying to get out. Was it dry before the storm? A little more information would be helpful.
