50:1

Edit: Wait a minute - you said vro. Is the vro still hooked up correctly to pump oil or is it bypassed. If it is still functional there should be an oil resevoir that you put the oil in and it mixes for you.(If it is working)

Re: johnson vro 50hp oil/fuel mix

Thanks for reply. Good Question. Im new to boating so im not sure if it has been disconnected, all i know is that i have to mix the oil into my fuel tank not the engine, and not sure of the correct mix. I am told i have to get the mix right and do not know whether its 25:1 or 50:1 . I have just had the engine serviced but it still stalls sometimes and not very reliable!! hope this helps. thanks.(also I have just brought some quicksilver premium two stroke oil but cannot go by ratio on bottle as i do not know whether its 25:1 or 50:1 as said) please help.

Whatever makes it's way into the engine needs to be 50:1. If your VRO is doing that automagically, fine. If not, you need to do it in the tank.

How's that for straddling the fence?
