I have a Stingray 180RS w/ Merc sterndrive.My question is- Is it possible to mount the transducer inside the boat(near the engine on the floor)without losing the performance of the fishfinder. It's a hummingbird piranhamax 215.

you will always loose performance when you do a in hull install between 50-80%. On you boat I would do a transom mt X-ducer. In hulls are tuff to find a sweet spot on that size hull.
