Does the lower Crankcase drain that is located below the carbs on the front of the crankcase my 2001 150 Johnson have a check valve in it? I can blow through the line farely easily and am wondering if this is normal.
I have a carbon build up problem in cylinder #6 ( see my other post "2001 Johnson 150 hp has 1 oily, black spark plug").
Thanks in advance

Not that I'm aware of. Simply allows unburnt fuel/oil a path back to carb throats. My 1995 is that way and the tube is routed to the air box.
Check to see if linkage opens all 6 carb butterflies evenly. Check to see that they (especially #6) all close the same time and completely also. Also check if the mix screw is the same position (# of turns out) as the other 5.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply Angu63. The butterflies all appear to be in sync. I will check the mix screws tomorrow.
