Caltech grad student Virgil Griffith has launched a search tool that uncovers whitewashing and other self-interested editing of Wikipedia. Users can generate lists of every edit to Wikipedia which has been made from a particular IP address range. The tool has already uncovered a number of interesting edits, such as one from the corporate offices of Diebold which removed large sections of content critical of their electronic voting machines. A Wired story provides more detail and Threat Level is running a contest to see who can come up with the most interesting Wikipedia spin job.

I wonder if this will work now that companies like Diebold now are wise to it? Kinda dumb on their part leaving a cyber fingerprint, even on I boats those with dual handles are not dumb enough to use the same e-mail address, are they???

Nah JR, I don?t think you, and Boom, are clones, unless you or he has two lines running into the same residence. Not going to tell you how I know that, nor tell you who the other clones are. The Mods most likely have some suspicion, but no proof as of yet. I gave a clue in this post, so look it over and use the tools that I boats has provided.

That is why I love it when some folks use wikipedia as a source. I have edited a page at wikipedia to show some here that it is not a "reliable" source for facts.

There is no doubt Boom and OMR are distinct and different indvidual's, hell iv'e met Boom and Haunt has met OMR we both decided Boom is much cuter......

IP addresses really are not a very reliable source to check for identity.At my three home computers there are floating IPs. Never mind the Timbuktu program that allows me to use a whole slew of University of Rochester addresses.All of this from home,never mind my work place.

You right Eric, lots of misinformation on there if somebody doesn?t double-check, if the information has been setting there unchallenged for some time theres a pretty good shot at it being accurate. I use it mainly for getting the dates right.
