Welcome to IBOATS. When posting about a problem try to give as much info as possible. Such as are you getting water circulating or not, why did you have to put two pumps? The year of the motor can be useful, especially in trying to determine where the thermastat is. I have learned the hard way that when having cooling problems and it goes back to the water not circulating to start at one end and work forward. You can remove the lower unit and using an old radiator hose, wood drill bit and hose clamps determine if the pump is working. put the hose on the driveshaft and lightly tighten with a hose clamp, any rubber hose big enough to go over driveshaft and bit. On the other end put the bit and hose clamp it. Then use you drill, watch that electrical cord and the water. pput the lower unit in an bucket and enough water to cover the pump inlet. Turn the drill in the right direction, I think it is clockwise and you should pump water, if so then your pump is not the problem.
