Have an older 15 hp Gamefisher tiller ob that has been reworked with new magneto, plugs, fuel lines/hoses. Motor starts and runs fine and runs very smooth at full throttle. Then after having been turned off for awhile, the motor fires right back up and starts to run fine at full throttle, but then after awhile will start to suck the fuel line bulb flat and eventually stall but will re-start easily and then do the same thing. We replaced the fuel lines and bulb and removed the filter from the tank-end line and also removed the air-intake knob from the gas tank cap, but still starts to suck the bulb flat on the return trip. Any thoughts?

Is the vent on the tank clear and open? Something's blocking the line on the tank side of the bulb. Could be a filter. Could be a bad valve in the bulb. Could be an unvented tank.

Can you try a different tank?

replace the bulb replaced lines on both sides of the bulb, removed the filter for the in-tank line and removed the air-vent altogether all to no avail. Any other thoughts?

Re: older ESKA 15hp tiller ob problem

Bad hose? I don't know. I do know that if the fuel pump on the engine is sucking the bulb flat, there is a restriction on the intake side of the bulb...somewhere. It's the only thing that can really cause that bulb collapse, if you think about it.

The fuel pump in those eskas is weak, at best, so there must be a blockage of some kind on the tank side of the pump.

Beyond that I can't say. Again, try another, known good, tank. I'm betting your problem disappears.
