I have a 13ft. Klamath utility aluminum with a 15 hp Honda electric start tiller four stroke and I'm wondering what type of electric trolling motor would work best and where to mount it?

Re: What type trolling motor for 13ft. aluminum?

all trolling motors are more efficient when mounted on the bow, easier to control the boat. here's a mount that you can use with the standard transom trolling motor. http://www.iboats.com/Transom_Motor...78118897--list_time.1188220993--view_id.39209

to use it you have to remove the control cover on top of the motor, remove a pin and swivel the top around 180* then replace the pin, and cover. if you are on a small calm lake 30 lbs is suffient. but if bigger water 45lbs, will control very well, as you do not have to use all the power. it's best to have more power than needed. also buy one with all the energy features. you can either use separate batteries,or one battery. as the 15hp should be easy enough to start if you happen to kill the battery. if using one, take some pvc pipe and run you electrical wires thru it to the bow, and fasten to the gunnel of the boat. stainless bolts & nuts, with rubber washers work well with the pvc pipe brackets.
