Just cruising eBay for a prop and a guy has one listed for Volvo and Johnson. Are these props interchangeable between the two? Is there any that interchange with Volvo Penta? It could widen my search out a little.

I've never heard of that before, but lets move this thread to the prop forum and see what happens.

Re: Volvo Penta & Johnson

Both Volvo Penta and OMC Cobra offer SX drives. They are the same. But not all Volvo Penta drives are SX's and not all OMC Cobra drives are SX's. OMC Cobra drives that are not SX's use the same prop as certain Johnson/Evinrude outboards, but no Volvo Penta drives use a prop that will fit Johnson/Evinrude outboards. So assuming the seller is talking about a prop that fits a Volvo Penta SX drive, it'll fit an OMC Cobra SX drive. But it will not fit any Johnson/Evinrude outboards. Or in other words, no Johnson/Evinrude props will fit a Volvo Penta.

Of those drives that use the same style OMC props the hub is the difference. The SX style props have 19 splines, the OMC outboard props have 15. The props, that we're talking about, can have the other hub pressed in.
