Is it a 2.0L or 2.5L block??

I looked at a 1993 Merc 135 HP V6. Does it have 2.0L or the 2.5L displacement?

Should be the 2.0 with top guided rods. Unless someone switched the powerhead.

Here's roughly how it goes...

2L = 135, 150
2.5L = 150, 175, 200
3L = 200, 225, 250

Thanks for the info. I took a serial number 0D261920 off the "freeze plug". Is the ir anyway to know for sure if the motor is really a 135HP? Don't hoods get switched as a matter of course?

BTW - the used boat dealer who has this motor is quite flaky! He has no idea what he got most of the time.
