Im Getting My Rpms But Not Getting My Normal Speed, Usually Get 22knots At 3400 Rpm's Now When Im At 3400 I only get 17-18knots.. Could It Be As Simple As Filters... Engine Is Volvo Ad41p With 800 Hours... Thanks
Plugged filters would drop rpm as well as speed.
A bit of debris or seaweed in the speedo pickup will drop displayed speed. If that's a possibility, undo the small hose at the speedo, put a Water-Pic dental cleaner on it to clean the line.
Assuming your tach and speedo are as accurate as before, there must be something mechanical slowing you down.
Boarding ladder down?
Is the hull & outdrive coated with a layer of marine growth?
Any damage to outdrive or prop?
Although it should be obvious, you aren't dragging a length of rope from a cleat or bow eye?
