Evinrude Triumph year ??

I have an older 60 hp Evinrude Triumph with model # 115983S. Can anyone help me out with the year model or tell me where to find it.

Chris....that number translates into a 1969 115hp. Is this a 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder? And where did you find the number?

Its a 3 cyl. I got my son to check the numbers for me while I was at work. I'll check them in the next day or so and repost. Thanks for the info.

It's either a 1970 or 1971
