Decided to replace the manifolds/risers while I am replacing the longblock......I'm due for risers and thought I wouls just go ahead and replace the manfolds as well even though they are FWC'd.

How do these look?

Is there any advantage to going to these? Don't know what kind of problems I might have in going from the 3" to 4" risers and, would my remote oil filter connect properly?

One is 3" and the other 4". Which do you have now? As far as the DM exhaust, I've seen positive responses, just don't be expecting to feel the hp difference. When mine need to be replaced, I'll probably give them a try.

Re: Manifolds/Risers

I have the 4", but not sure what it takes to convert. It would be exhaust hose plus 90 degree elbow before the Y-pipe, but might need new Y-pipe, too. You would have to look carefully through MercruiserParts lists, to make sure. Or just talk to Dennis, I'm sure he knows exactly what you need. No sense restricting those vortecs, more than they need to be. ;)

Re: Manifolds/Risers

I've done this, I stuck with the 3" on my 228hp/305" Chevy because I was going with straight thru-hull exhaust, and didn't want it louder then it had to be, but 4" would help some with performance (or so I heard?) If you're using the Y -pipe, I'm not sure if the size matters? but I think the Y-pipe is big enough for either, (you'll hafta measure it yourself), and then adapt the hoses or rubber reducers to fit.
