Unsure!!

I'm looking to buy a new outboard. Leaning toward a new 2006 mercury 4 stroke. Is an 2007 any better?
I am just unsure as to how the line up is on all brand outboards best to worst.

Any advise would be welcomed.

nothing changed except for the decals I would save some $$$ and go with the 06. If you are in the high hp range I would go with the opti max lighter, faster , better on gas

Not true. The 07' models are completely different powerheads manufactured by Mercury and not Yamaha as in the past. The 07' models are based on the Verado powerhead and are said to be bulletproof. They are also smoother running and IMO are a bit more powerful than the old carb. models, which the 2006 4-stroke model is. And the new 4-stroke engines are Smartcraft compatable. I have an 07' 90 and love it...
