Installing tach on 84' force 50

I'm wondering where I hook up the signal wire. The electrical panel on the engine has a wire labeled tach but the wire hooks to the ignition switch and the the emergency stop switch. Do I just screw another wire down on top of this?

On my 85 there is a white wire on the terminal block labeled tach but wasnt hooked up to my existing tach.. You need to use the purple wire off the stator
terminal to the sending post on the tach.
