Hey guys/gals.
1978 70hp Rude triple.
Starts with just a hit of the key in most cases, BUT we were out with friends (it only happens when someone else is there for it to be embarrassing of course, lol) and we had done about 45 mins of wakeboarding and I shut the engine off to allow the boarder back in the boat. It sat for about 5 mins and when I went to re-start it cranked and cranked and wouldn't go. It took about 3 mins of playing with choke and such to make it start. Once it went it was all good again and didn't do it again, but it almost seemed like I had boiled all of the fuel out of the carbs or something.
Any guesses?
Thanks in advance.

Could you check the spark and compression and let us know what you find to start troubleshooting.

That happened to me with a 55 Rude. It was the power pack. Electronic components can break down from heat. That can be a bummer to troubleshoot. We use to use a product called "Freeze" to troubleshoot TV components that were doing that. I don't know if it would work on a power pack or not since the components are embeded but it would be worth a try. But check for spark first as that may not be the problem.
