I have a 0mc 3.0 1994 in a four winns. I had the head and exhust gaskets replaced we also decided to replace all the gaskets on the top end when we discovered permatex on all the gaskets, now everything is cleaned up and re assembled. no start, when we hold throttle open it will catch fire in the carb? I am leaning towards the valves needing adjustments. also the plugs are new with but the wires seem a tad loose but they all make the snap when they were pushed on. the boat ran before the tear down. It was mixing h20 in the oil. please help me thanks...

Did you have distributor out to redo gaskets? If so are you sure it is in the right position and not 180 degrees out.

Double check the plug wires, make sure a couple aren't wrong.

It is defnitely a timing issue or plug wires wrong. bring #1 up to TDC and check alignment of cap with rotor ( rotor should point to #1 cylinder wire on cap), check plug wire location against firing order and engine rotation. Start and do a timing check with your manual.

The rockers were way to tight with wouldn't let the valves close . adjusted them and it started. now the problem is there is water mixing in with the oil??????
