1984-1985 Sears Gamefisher

Had trouble starting the engine so I took off the carb and float bowl to notice that the metal tab with the hole that holds the float bowl rod is broke off. So now i need a new carb. and these seem pretty hard to find. Do you guys know where i can find a used carb for this engine? Its a 7.5 hp tecumseh engine with a Engine number of 640-23A and a Model number 217586752 and a SN 58016454. thanks for your time!

You may find a carb at a small engine shop.Carb is a Tecumseh carb.
While these motors are inexpensive entry level motors;they can be problematic poor performers I would be cautious about to much investment
in time or money.

I am a newby here and I dont see the date of this post BUT you can still get parts or at least part numbers at sears parts direct. If you have the model number ie; 217xxxxxx you can look at a parts breakdown.

This carb looks just like my 7.5 eska, maybe theres a no. that could ID it.

Hello. I'll look tomorrow. I have to mid 70's 7.5's. Have to see if they are the same #'s (and if I still have one).
