Nobody should be allowed to drink Scoth that is older than they are, particularly single malt.

You have to get used to rotgut before you can appreciate such a treat.

I just learned today that falling is the number 4 cause of fatalities. Alcohol is related to 43% of all falls...so dieing from drinking doesnt mean you have to be in a car......interesting data

I agree with that! In college, I recall buying the cheapest possible scotch available. It was virtually undrinkable, which reduced the consumption rate and its' effect on a meager budget!

I have an unopened bottle of 12yr aged Pinch scotch that someone gave me 10yrs ago. Is it still good?

What do I do with scotch? Can you drink it with cigars?

For young college kids it is all about economics. One bottle of 20 year old scotch or 5-10 cases of Strohls the only fire brewed beer for a reason.

Since it is out of the aging cask it is still "12YO", but still good.

Scotch is an acquired taste. Better Scotches should be sipped neat (straight, room temp) but first exposure should be with water and ice or soda and ice.

A good Cuban or Honduran cigar (I prefer Cohiba Habana Cuba) goes well with a dram or two of premium Scotch. This past summer, at a fish camp on Lake Of The Woods, I shared Cohibas Cubans and Macallans 12YO single malt with my 41YO son and 18YO Grandbuddy in a most memorable evening of 3 generation male bonding.
