I have a 64 Mercury 3.9 hp that takes a small quick connect to the motor. I had a problem with it where I would prime it and it would run for awhile seemingly long enough to run the fuel out of the bowl or so it seemed. I could reprime it choke it and it would start right up and do the same thing. Took it to the local AOMCI meet today and had bought a fuel pump diaphragm for it there. While I was there borrowed a tank and hooked started it in the big tank there. It never died at all and ran for a long time. We determined it has to be the o ring in the connector that is bad causing a leak to where it sucks enough air to quit running. Anyone know the procedure for replacing the o ring.
