I have an 1989 8hp Evinrude that I had serviced at a local repair shop in the off season. Before service the motor was tough to start and didn't idle right, but once in gear and under load it ran fine. After I took it in I found out that the motor had the wrong choke and the wrong carb. Over $600 later I figured the motor would run like brand new after putting the right parts on it. I just recently had the chance to take it out and the motor fired up and idled good. The problem is when in gear and under load the motor doesn't reach the same power it used to produce and cuts in and out and wants to stall. I haven't called repair shop since it was so long since they serviced it and don't think they would do anything for me. Is this maybe a matter of adjusting the carb or what????
