2001 Honda 130 breakin and other ???

I went ahead and purchased the motor. (1 hour use, but Honda dealer pickled and crated since 2001), so now I have some questions. I'll have to break it in, what's the procedure? Also, I'm putting this on my 1994 21' Hewescraft. Will my existing steering for my 115 mariner (I believe 1989 vintage) hook up to this honda?

Anybody out there have an actual service manual for this engine? Not a Clymer/Seloc......

nothing above 3/4 throttle...no towing/no tubing/no heavy loads...vary the throttle every few minutes...change oil and gear oil at 20 hours

Honda's Marine website in the owner's tab has owners manuels that can be downloaded for free and offers factory service manuels for sale.

Motor Should Have Come With The Honda Steering Link And Special Bolt
Thats A Nice Set Up That Motor On That Boat
Dont Over Prop The Motor After You Get Ten Hours On It Or So Make Sure The Motor Gets To The 6000 Red Line Or Very Close To It

Ask the dealer to determine for you whether or not your motor falls within the range of serial numbers that was susceptible to the cracked block problem that early BF130s had. If the motor is within the range make sure they'll take care of the problem if it arises (it's not apparent right out of the box). If the motor is outside the susceptible range, you're good to go. If the dealer won't/can't tell you, then do a search here; the serial number range was posted some time ago. Good luck.

yep crackes block on #3 exhaust on some motors
u want to prop it to 6150 rpm 75% loaded
