mercruiser 160

i have a mercruiser 160 engine that im trying to get back running. but i have lost the check valve that goes on the fuel bypass hose. part number b-22-45122 and i cant find one anywhere. Does anybody know where i can get a replacement or a different way to set the fuel lines up?

so what year 160 is this? a straight 6, right?

my 75, 165 fuel line don't have no check valves ontoit or any fuel bypass hose either. just a straight run from the fuel tank, to the fuel pump, fuel pump to carb. i think what i have is oem for 75.......

Ayuh,.........

Does the lengendary 470 have a "check valve that goes on the fuel bypass hose. part number b-22-45122",..??..??.....

I think they were offered in 160hp once,..??...........

The 160's (circa 67-69) did have a check valve there. Not sure why. But it was on the AC type fuel pumps ONLY, the Carter pump didn't have it.
My GUESS, the old AC pump didn't work like modern pumps do. So having that check valve with a newer pump could be a problem all by itself.
