Boats a 1986 , The bill of sale seems to indicate a 1987 for the motor.

What is interesting is the wrap color. That is an '84 wrap on an '85 motor. The serial number suggests it is an early '85 production number and they likely kept using the '84 cowling color for a bit into 1985 I suppose. Most '85 motors are not brown.

Not uncommon at all for the year of manufacture for a motor to be one year older than the boat. The boat dealers simply installed motors they had available in stock at the time of sale.

They tell me that my 115 mod;ME115ELPTO SER; A908310 IS A 1986?

It is black with a red graphic stripe on the motor covers.

Have never seen another like mine.

They made inlines up until 1988. The 1984 was typically a brown stripe.
