Its been 2 months now and have pretty good outcome of rebuilding my tools and equipment that was flooded.

My Lincoln SP-125+ was taken apart and cleaned with fresh clean water. I then cooked it in a convection oven for 48 hours. I did buy a new gun and cable because of the corrosion in the cable was real bad. Got good results afterwards as it works excellent.

The Thermal Dynamics Plasma cutter, I did the same thing and it works as well as it did before.

Both of the generators had water in the cylinders and oil. Dumped the crap and did 5 oil changes until the nasty stuff was gone. I changed the bearings in the generators and both work excellent. The windings and armature was also cooked for 48 hours also.

The commercial mower was taken to the dealer and they replaced numerous bearings, battery, electronic modules, and belts. It works excellent now as well.

Snow blowers, I did the same with as the generators. They now work fine except for actual testing since the snow hasn't fallen yet.

The smaller power tools were also taken apart, cleaned, cooked, and bearings replaced.

On all the equipment that I have redone, only my bench polisher/grinder did not survive. I think it was because it was right next to a bucket of delimer acid that leached into the windings as the water covered them.

So before anyone that goes through a flood, keep in mind that not eveything is totally ruined. However, don't wait to do anything about it. The longer it sits, the more damge it is doing.

As for the bearings, you do not have to get the manufactures exact bearings. I bought all mine through a bearings distributor. The most expensive one cost $8.60.

Its been a tough time doing my regular routine plus getting the shop back to normal. I just hope they find a new place out of the flood zone so I'll never have to do this again. I really feel bad for all those that lost their homes.
