I have printed the De-Carbon process as outlines in Frequently Asked Questions and although I really appreciate the info, I have some proceedure questions that very clear, or at least to this dumb Arkansas swabee.

1.) Lets say I can make to to the point where I have mixed 3/4 gallon gas, 3 oz of oil and 16 oz of Sea Foam in a 6 gallon Johnson gas tank that I have as a spare. My boat has a 12 gallon in boat gas tank. It says start engine, warm it up and then start pulling the mix in the engine.

OK - Do I still have my 12 gallon tank hooked up? If not, how am I going to start the engine with no gas. If I hook the mix into the intake side of the water seperating fuel filter ( Not a clue , maybe that round filter ? ) , it's not going to do me any good to have the main 12 gallan tank hooked up cause gas would never get to the engine.

I know, but we didnt have books at my school and I accept being the dumb Arkie, but this hooking it up has me throwing my dress up.

Could some explain this process for me. Thank you so much.

Re: De-Carbon 79 115 Johnson Question

The engine will run better through the process if you warm it up first, then switch your fuel line to the de-carbon mix, However, it will start on the mixture.

It might be easier to use if the text of Captain Dunkelbergers article were formatted the way he wrote it:

Note that the thread is several pages, not just the part quoted out of context in the engine FAQ.

Unplug the fuel hose at the motor and plug the tank in there. You will need a separate tank and hose.

You can just buy BRP carbon guard, and mix it per directions. Something like 1 oz. per 7-8 gal. and this stuff really works. We use it in our fishing engines all the time.

Re: De-Carbon 79 115 Johnson Question

I have started using the BRP Carbon Guard myself, living in Canada and not being able to get my hands on SeaFoam. Have never had a problem with it, although it is a bit more pricey than the seafoam.

I use Carbon Guard as well. I think that it will help to maintain a clean engine.

If you mix it as per directions, it is cheaper than sea foam.
