Hello having problem with spark,, lot`s of spark when spark plug is out of cylinder as soon as i put spark plug in cylinder hole no spark????it like it sences compression (that can`t be) Vic 1976 55h 2 cylinder evinrude

use a spark tester not the plug. could be cracked plug, bad boot, wire. grounding to block.

Hello yes i tryed a spark tester ,,it is properley grounded ,,lots of battery life ,so fast cranking speed...
could it be a week coil,,it has 2 coils one for each cylinder...

it could be weak coils, but weather the plug is in or not should not change the spark.

On the inline spark tester, how large a gap will the spark jump with a bright blue ZAP!! 7/16 of an inch? Do you get spark on both cylinders equally? I would look into the boots like TD said and check the condition of the spring and spark plug wire. If it is corroded or rusty at all, you will need a new boot kit. Cut back the wire, allowing enough to still reach the plug, remove about an 1/8 of an inch of insulation, fold the expposed wire over, slide the new spring through the wire, lube the wire, then slide the new boot over top. A little grease in the boot should help as well. Also check the condition of the plugs fully, the porcelain may be cracked or damaged.

Hi was at the dealer today they said that if it`s tuning over to slow (like low battery life) it would not sence the spark,,they said when the plugs are out it turns faster when the plugs are in it turns to slow ,,,well it tryed a new battery didn`t work ,,they also said the sensor assembly or timmer base is week ( these parts are under the flywheel) still doesn`t make any sense ,,i did try all the above new plugs and wires..
