i just installed a water pump on my 150hp mer and only a little water came out and then it got hot and stop pump . is it possible that i didnt put all the seals or rings in. please help.
the hose the water flows through may be cloged with dirt .Feed weedeater string in through the water out let while the engine is running give it a little gass in forward an reverse.
Maybe you didn't get the water tube into the hole right. Probably will have to drop it back down and take look see.
If what Eddison says is right, disconnet the pee indicator hose inside the cowling and run water through the system backwards, then try again. Maybe remove the stats temporarly and then you would get instant water, less chance of overheating.
