Boat paint

I'm new to this group.
I have a 14 foot fiberglass submarine built by Aero Jet General in the early 60's. I am in the process of restoring it. Sanding down right now. I'm trying to find out what the best paint would be. Most of the time it will be sitting in the California sun, with short trips in the water both fresh and saltwater. Does any one have expertise in this area. the hull is in good shape with the exeption of a some minor nicks needing refilling.
I would like something that a novice can apply fairly easily. That is durable.

The last boat I painted was with Interlux (brand) Marine Paint. Was made for the marine environment. Even had the pic of a prop on the front.
