I recently had a 7 HP chrysler tiller model 72HA given to me. I finally had some time to work on it and after all the cleaning and replacing of some parts, she fired up in about 10 pulls. I let it run for about 2 minutes on the muffs and it seemed to be getting pretty hot. There was some water coming from the telltale (holes) in the motor but it was pretty hot. Can I have an obstruction in the cooling system? If so how do I rectify this problem. I also wanted to replace the impeller but cannot find a replacement or part #. Any help would be appriaciated.

Re: Got her running today.

Go over to the Chrysler Crew chat room tonight at 9pm and contact Franz. He will hook you up with the part.

Remember--these engines run about 160 degrees--this is hot enough to scald. So, unless the engine was running hot enough to boil drops of water dripped onto the head and block it was probably OK.

But it's still good practice and insurance to replace the water pump impeller.

I will go over to their chat room, thanks. I didn't know that these motors ran so hot, I am used to my 'rude. I don't want to smoke the motor over somthing so simple.
