I have this kenmore side by side refrigerator, the refrigerator side is a little less than 40 degrees, with the control on hi, temp coming out the duct reads cold like 0 degrees, the air flow does not seem to be very strong, Wandering if the evaporator fan is weak, the freezer side is very cold, cleaned condensor coils, unit is about 12 years old! any idea's ?

Usually in the bottom is a vent that moves the air from the freezer side to the fridge part. If this gets blocked or closed, your fridge part will be warmer. Sometimes they get blocked by items in the freezer as well.

Another scenerio would be your defrost timer is not running and leaving the freezer to run continuiously. If this happens, the evap coil will freeze up with ice blocking the air flow over.

I had the timer and heaters repaired, the air flow just is not there, took off the cover for the evaporater coils were frosed some but not alot, how to fing the blockage to fridge side or is the fan too weak?

How old of a fridge? If it's the modern style it has a condenser underneath of it with a fan on it. If the condenser coil gets plugged, or if, the fan quit running it can cause all sorts of weird problems. It may not be the problem but, it's really easy to check, and clean. If you haven't done it in the last year it needs to be done anyway.

If you already spent money having the timers and heaters repaired, if it's more then 7 years old, ANd, if you can't fix it yourself it's time to junk it anyway. The new ones are so much more efficient they pay for themselves in 5 years. Pick up a new one for about what, 400 to 1000 dollars?

Well I ordered a part from sears temp control, it is located behind the fridge control knob which makes the fridge colder, no matter were I put the knob setting, it still stays a appox 40 degrees, I am thinking that this temp control is not functioning! Keep my fingers crossed on this one,

ok the part is not right one the air flow out oout of the diffuser on the fridge side is very weak, the evaporater coil is not frosted up, has a light frost on it! the air temp is o degrees at the output on fridge side if I put the thermo on the shelf it will rise to 40 degrees, anybody ?
